Tips for Hosting a Birthday Party at DiG PDX!
MAKE A PLAN
Create a detailed plan for your planned decor well in advance. Decide on the theme, color scheme, and specific decorations you want to use. If you want to hire a decorator, make sure to reach out well ahead of time. If ordering supplies from Amazon, consider their delivery times and place your order well in advance if possible.
FOOD IDEAS
Foods that are easy for guests to grab off the table is always the easiest food to serve. Costco pre-made wraps, sandwiches, and pizza are very popular for parties and make for easy clean up. Don’t forget to bring to-go boxes if you plan on sending your guests home with leftovers.
GUEST REMINDERS
In your invitations, remind all guests that no socks or shoes are allowed in the sandboxes. Include the required online waiver to fill out in advance. Kindly remind parents with older children attending the party that DiG PDX is a space designed for children 2-7 and to be gentle and courteous with the toys. No food or drinks are allowed in the sandboxes.
PREP EARLY AND GATHER SUPPLIES
Assemble everything you can think of in advance; string garlands, inflate balloons and assemble favor bags. Make sure you have minimal work to do, once you arrive to setup.
ENLIST HELP FOR SETUP
Enlist the help of family members, friends, or other parents attending the party to help you setup food and decor. Assign specific tasks to each person in advance. You have 30 minutes to setup, so you need all the help you can get! If possible, consider having your child arrive after setup is complete; it also makes for a more grand surprise!
END OF PARTY CLEAN-UP
Your party host will give you a 10-15 minute reminder before your party is scheduled to end. Enlist family members, friends, or other guests in advance for help with clean up, take down, and loading items into the car. Lastly, take one final walk through to ensure no personal belongings are left behind.
Final payment is due at the end of the party.

DECOR RESTRICTION REMINDERS
You may bring small or large decor. Balloons and garlands OK. Large decor may ONLY be delivered 30 minutes prior to birthday party start-time.
For garlands, balloon arches, or anything else on the wall, please bring “command hooks” as we don't allow any type of nails or tape on the walls.
We do not allow:
tape or nails on the wall
piñatas
glitter or confetti
slime
play dough or similar
FOOD RESTRICTIONS
We do not allow:
Crockpots
Food warmers or ethanol gel burners food warming appliances that need to be plugged in
An excessive amount of food trays (we simply don't have space for it, sorry!)

Water station with kids sized cups
TIPS AND GRATUITY
Tips and gratuity are not included in your rental fee and not required. However, if you think your host did a good job you will have an opportunity to tip them at the end of the party. 100% of the tips go directly to your host!

Our fun add-ons are only available when you host a birthday party at DiG PDX. We have everything from event photography, balloons, bdecor, serving plates to a fun sized claw machine.
